This Privacy Policy describes how Monoglot (“Monoglot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit our website, join our waitlist, or otherwise interact with our products, models, applications, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services you acknowledge the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you provide. Email address, name, company, role, payment details, communications you send us, survey and form responses, waitlist sign-ups, and any other information you choose to provide.
- Content you upload.Audio, video, transcripts, voice samples, text, images, and any other material you submit to the Services for processing (“Customer Content”), as well as derived data such as transcripts, embeddings, and translated outputs.
- Usage and device information. IP address, device and browser identifiers, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, pages viewed, features used, timestamps, error logs, performance metrics, and similar telemetry collected automatically.
- Cookies and similar technologies. First-party and third-party cookies, local storage, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies used for authentication, security, analytics, and remembering your preferences.
- Information from third parties. Payment processors, identity providers, analytics providers, and partners who help us operate, secure, or improve the Services.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide, operate, maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Services and related infrastructure;
- process Customer Content to deliver the outputs you request, including transcription, translation, dubbing, voice synthesis, speaker detection, and similar functions;
- communicate with you about your account, the Services, security, updates, support, and (with your consent where required) marketing;
- measure performance, perform analytics, conduct research, and understand how the Services are used so we can improve quality, reliability, and safety;
- prevent, detect, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms;
- comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our agreements, and protect our rights, property, and users.
Model training. We do not use Customer Content to train our publicly released foundation models without an appropriate legal basis or your consent where required by law. We may use de-identified, aggregated, or otherwise anonymized data for research, benchmarking, and improving model quality. Where we offer opt-in or opt-out controls for training, those controls govern.
3. Legal Bases (EEA, UK, and Similar Regimes)
Where applicable law (including the EU/UK GDPR) requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on one or more of: (a) performance of a contract with you; (b) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Services where those interests are not overridden by your rights; (c) compliance with a legal obligation; and (d) your consent, where required.
4. How We Share Information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who process information on our behalf (for example, cloud hosting, storage, content delivery, analytics, payment processing, customer support, email delivery, and security), under contractual obligations to use it only as instructed;
- Affiliates within our corporate group for the purposes described in this Policy;
- Business partners where you have requested an integration or where it is necessary to deliver a feature you requested;
- Legal and safety recipients, including regulators, law enforcement, or other parties, when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law or legal process, to enforce our Terms, to investigate fraud or abuse, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of any person;
- Successors in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. To the extent any sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising is considered a “sale” or “sharing” under applicable law, we will honour valid opt-out requests.
5. International Transfers
We operate globally and may transfer, store, and process your information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK IDTA, or equivalent mechanisms) to protect personal information.
6. Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and the purpose for which it is processed. We may also retain de-identified or aggregated information indefinitely.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorised access.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, port, restrict, or delete your personal information; to object to certain processing; to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residentshave additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, opt out of “sale” or “sharing,” and limit the use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
9. Cookies & Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember preferences, and measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not function without them. We may use third-party analytics that collect usage information consistent with this Policy.
10. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Voices, Likenesses & Biometric Data
Voice samples and other biometric or biometric-like data are processed solely to provide the Services you request. You are responsible for obtaining all necessary consents from any individual whose voice or likeness appears in Customer Content. We disclaim liability for unauthorized use of any third party’s voice, likeness, or identity by you.
12. Third-Party Sites & Services
The Services may contain links to or integrate with third-party sites, products, or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (including by posting the updated Policy on the Services). Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
